The Tiqets Content Team is the factory floor where our products get assembled, painted with rich colorful language, and poured over by a crackteam of international translators. Eye candy is added, and multiple rounds of meticulous checks are performed to ensure all information presented onsite is clear, accurate, helpful and fun.
Today I sat down for a chat with the Head of Content, Guilherme (or Guil for short), to see how this orchestra gets conducted on a daily basis.
First of all, tell us about the man behind the Content, aka yourself.
Although it may not always seem like it, I’m a very quiet guy. When I’m not working, I like to hang out with my wife, watch a decent show or film, read news articles, and explore the spectacular city I’m lucky enough to live in.
Can you give us a brief summary of what your team works on?
Anything and everything. We write creative eye-catching copy and translate it into seven different languages, get new products live and improve ‘old’ products; we proofread documents, email campaigns, and anything else that’s thrown at us. Content also assists Customer Service with whatever they need, manage closures, follow up on incidents, and manage a pretty sweet blog – we’re a flexible bunch.
What is an average day in your team?
That’s hard to say. What we know for sure is that we’ll have a stand-up meeting at 09:45. After that, products will be configured, copy will be written, translated and proofread, and issues will be solved. Actual priorities depend on the day. Coffee is the only constant!
What, if any, are the principles that your team lives by?
Politeness, kindness, and the will to help are the main ones. Although the team has grown considerably since I joined Tiqets, we’ve done a good job at hiring people who share those principles.
What advice would you have for someone that would like to work with your team?
Aspiring Contentnicians need to be linguaphiles, for obvious reasons. Strong multitasking skills and a sharp eye for detail are also essential. Finally, the ability to prioritize is key – without that, you would lose your mind very quickly around here.
What is your favorite thing about working with the Tiqets Content Team?
The energy I get from my team is really something else. No matter how busy we are, everyone’s always positive and willing to kick some serious arse. I also love the fact that most of them have lunch together daily – and how welcoming they all are when we have a new employee joining Tiqets.
